Santa Clarita Sewer Repair: Trenchless Sewer Lining in Santa Clarita

Santa Clarita Sewer Repair covers cured-in-place pipe lining for sewer laterals in the Santa Clarita Valley — the old line jetted clean and filmed, a felt or fiberglass liner saturated with epoxy resin inverted into it from a cleanout, and the liner cured into a new jointless pipe inside the old one, usually without a trench or a pit.

What lining fixes and what it cannot

Condition on camera Lining
Roots entering at joints Good candidate after cleaning
Cracks, small holes, minor fractures Good candidate
Leaking joints Good candidate
Small offsets Often, if the liner can pass
Large offsets or a collapse Not without a spot repair first
Belly (sag) No — the liner follows the sag
Orangeburg that has deformed Usually not
Pipe smaller than the liner's range or with sharp bends Depends on the system

An offset joint. At an offset joint, one pipe section has shifted relative to the next, leaving a step that catches solids and a gap that lets roots and soil in.

What the numbered markers show

  1. The step where one section sits lower than the next catches paper and solids flowing down the pipe.
  2. The gap at the shifted joint lets roots and soil into the pipe and lets water out into the ground.
  3. Ground movement, settling or earth shifting over the years is the usual cause; a small offset can often be bridged by a liner, a large one is dug and repaired.

The lining process

  1. The line is hydro jetted and roots are cut flush to the pipe wall.
  2. The camera confirms the pipe is clean and measures its length and diameter.
  3. A liner cut to length is saturated with epoxy resin on site.
  4. The liner is inverted into the pipe from the cleanout with air or water pressure, pressing the resin against the old wall.
  5. It cures with ambient time, hot water, steam or UV light, depending on the system.
  6. Any branch connections inside the line are reopened with a cutter robot.
  7. A final camera run records the new pipe.

Cured-in-place lining: inversion, cure, reinstated connection. A resin-saturated liner is inverted into the cleaned pipe, cured into a hard new pipe against the old wall, and any branch connections are reopened from inside.

What the numbered markers show

  1. Air or water pressure turns the resin-saturated felt liner inside out as it travels into the pipe from the access point.
  2. Once cured, the liner is a continuous jointless pipe pressed against the old wall, slightly smaller in inside diameter.
  3. Branch connections covered by the liner are reopened from inside with a remote cutter so they drain again.

Diameter, flow and the liner

A liner adds a few millimeters of wall inside the pipe, so a 4 inch clay lateral becomes slightly smaller inside. The smooth, jointless surface usually flows as well as or better than the rough old pipe. On laterals that change diameter or have several branches, the lining system and the reinstatement of branches decide whether the job is practical.

Lining gives an old pipe a new wall without disturbing the ground above it.

Lining in Santa Clarita's older laterals

The valley's 1960s–70s clay laterals under Saugus, Canyon Country and older Valencia lots are classic lining candidates: the clay is strong, the joints are where roots get in, and the lines often run under driveways and trees. Laterals that went through the 1994 Northridge earthquake sometimes have offset joints that need a spot repair before the liner goes in.

Trenchless Sewer Lining (CIPP) — common questions

How much does sewer pipe lining cost?

About $80–$180 per foot in 2026; a 60 ft lateral lands roughly at $4,800–$10,800, plus $400–$800 for jetting first if the line is full of roots.

How long does a liner last?

Manufacturers of cured-in-place systems design them for decades of service; warranty terms vary by system and installer. A workmanship warranty, if any, is the installer's and is published before bookings open.
